I am a life-time writer, in love with words. Poetry published in a university magazine, a couple of children's stories published in children's magazines, plus articles for Humane Society Magazines, in-house articles for business management training, and factual information pamphlets for veterinarians. Some of my animal behavior writing on ducks and waterfowl has been used in lower school grades, and two humor pieces were published in a county magazine. Please refer to "Background" webpage for further writing credits.
Two books have recently been released: "The Legends of Nevermore County" (eight short stories) and "All About Eve and Other Things" (essays and poetry). Now available worldwide!

From the serious to the ridiculous and the whimsical to the lyrical, tucked away in these pages you can find essays and poetry to enlighten and entertain, to make you chuckle…or perhaps even weep.
What would you do if you thought the Queen of England might drop in for tea, or have you ever whimsically capered? How many geese in a flock? Or is it a gaggle of geese? Happy songs and sad songs, here is an entertaining book for every mood to read again and again.

Her Majesty The Queen Buckingham Palace London SW1A 1AA
Subject and Reference: All about Eve and Other Things ISBN 1-4241-0339-8 In Case The Queen of England Ever Unexpectedly Comes To Visit.
Your Majesty,
In one of my recently published books, referenced above, the essay mentioned is a component part of this book, containing articles and poetry. Although I recognize that there has not been a Queen of England since 1603, we Americans still refer to Your Majesty in this manner. Hence, I hope you may forgive this historical blunder in this book.
Confidential paragraphs omitted here.
This letter is to alert you to the existence of this essay and to request your comments. The book itself is readily available in the UK. In the scheme of things, you may well not have the time to do so but, of course, this does not preclude me from asking.
Sincerely Yours, Adelle Bradford, Author

Down in the southwest corner of Nevermore County is a mountain the early European settlers called Mist Tree Mountain because of the huge mist-shrouded tree that grew at the very top. In time, it became known to their descendants as Mystery Mountain, and it is in the small backwoods towns and villages around the mountain that these stories take place.
Fairly isolated, nestled in the foothills near the No Name River, with only two narrow country bridges connecting them to the rest of the county, these small locales frequently developed odd customs and behaviors. While outsiders might find them exceedingly strange, they are, in one way or another, accepted by the people living there…even when the outcome is fatal.

There be a cautionary tale to be told for the unwary!
Soon after it became known that PublishAmerica was to publish the "Legends of Nevermore County", I received notification from my informant that the news was being rapidly dissiminated in Nevermore County and that the residents were anything but happy about this book. Furthermore, a tale had been told that I would return to gather more material for a sequel, which caused His Honor The Mayor to call for a town meeting.
Further details became unavailable since my informant appears to have vanished . . . could someone have tossed him into SuckunderBog? See what the people in these stories have to say about this whole thing in the "Nevermore County Gazette" by clicking the Gazette button below.
